Things have been moving very quickly, but it looks like money from the recently passed spending package could be heading Georgia’s way.  Our legislature has already adjusted their schedule so they have the ability to absorb a handout from Washington.  The question they need to carefully consider is whether or not they should.  There will certainly be all sorts of strings attached.

But if they do decide to take the money, I would like to make a suggestion.  Spend the money as stipulated, but match it dollar for dollar with tax cuts for Georgia residents.  This will have two benefits – it will force the Legislature to reduce their spending and it will get money into the hands of taxpayers and small businesses who will really be the ones to turn the economy around.
