The Sustainable Peachtree Corners blog highlights Simpson Elementary School’s participation in International Walk to School Day last week. Over 200 students braved the rain to walk to class:
The realization: kids need exercise and time to move about and use their growing limbs, unconstrained by car seats. The trend? Re-introducing safe routes to school makes it possible for our kids to be able to get themselves to and from school without having to brave dangerous, crowded roads where large and often speeding vehicles have the upper hand.
