A newly-formed DNR enforcement unit has snagged a Dacula man who had buried several jet skis in his back yard. Grady Standridge offered no explanation for his unusual gardening practices, but he has been charged with Theft by Receiving and other charges related to fraudulent vehicle identification.
The case is one of the first investigations by the new Marine Theft Unit of the Department of Natural Resources’ Law Enforcement Section. The unit was created in July, said Barnes. Each month, the Marine Theft Unit compiles information about stolen watercraft and distributes it to DNR law enforcement to be on the lookout for them.
