Hello, Talk Gwinnett!

I am excited to introduce myself and to begin sharing my musings with you.
For starters, my name is Stephanie and I am a Gwinnett girl to the bone. Being born in Snellville, raised in Lawrenceville, and currently residing in Suwanee, I know Gwinnett like the back of my hand. Its “melting pot” of rich history and growth, its sights and sounds and its people and places all make Gwinnett a great place to visit and an even better place to live!
Growing up only 45 minutes from Athens, I am a Georgia “Bulldawg” girl who graduated from the University of Alabama in 2006. I’m sure you football fans are a little confused about that. Let’s just say it makes for an exciting fall – Go Dawgs and Roll Tide!
In order to put food on the table, I work as the Marketing Manager at DE Fine Art Gallery in Norcross where I use my creative side to market fine art to galleries across the country and people all across the Atlanta area. In November 2007 I took my seat on the Special Needs Schools (SNS) of Gwinnett Board of Directors where I am the current secretary. SNS holds a special place in my heart that will drive me to post about them often.
When “playtime” rolls around, you can find me spending time with my family and friends, taking my new pup to her favorite Gwinnett spots, worshiping at 12Stone’s main campus and trying my hand at “artsy-craftsy” ventures.
As the “newbie” on the scene, I have a couple of self-made goals for my writings here at TalkGwinnett.com. First, I want you to enjoy yourselves. After all, who wants to read about things that are of no interest or are not fun? Next, I want to inspire. If I can write a post that drives you to action, causes you to hit your local craft store, or pushes you to try the new Italian joint on the corner my goal is met. Finally, I want to inform. Many things, people and places go unnoticed in today’s busy world. I want to draw these to your attention – I want to bring them into the spotlight.
Comments, no matter if they are rants or raves, are a must! As a writer, they teach me about you and help me hone in on areas of interest. Suggestions on topics, places to try and review, craft ideas, blogs to read (I think you get where I’m going here) are ALWAYS welcome. As I aim to inspire you, I pray that you inspire me too.
I am so thrilled to be a part of TalkGwinnett.com and I look forward to what the future brings here. In the meantime, let’s get blogging!
