As metro Atlanta continues to recover from September’s relentless rains, a Lilburn Catholic school cries out for help.
St. John Neumann’s Regional Catholic School suffered significant damage and excessive loss in the recent floods. The school’s students, after missing school for two weeks, returned Monday to devastated classrooms as teachers’ supplies were destroyed in the rising waters. The playground suffered extensive damage, and will cost the already spread thin school $10,000 to get it back to usable, safe conditions. Surviving computers, supplies and furniture remain at risk due to the excessive moisture they were exposed to.
The teachers of St. John Neumann’s Regional Catholic School are in desperate need of the following supplies: basic office/classroom supplies, storage containers, chart paper, easels and art supplies, book shelves, gym equipment and monetary donations.
Hit hardest, the preschool class was a total loss. Only able to take new supplies, the preschool is in need to toys such as: Fisher Price Little People, building blocks, board books for two-year olds, Hotwheels/Matchbox cars, wooden puzzles and monetary donations.
To donate monetarily, please make checks out to:
+ St. John Neumann Regional Catholic School (or SJNRCS) for school age donations
+ St. John Neumann Catholic Church (or SJN) for preschool donations
