Another Moonbat With Psychic Powers – Jimmy Carter

Ex-President Jimmy Carter has joined the growing ranks of liberals claiming the ability to see into a man’s heart. For some reason, those ranks seem to be populated quite heavily by Democrat loons from Georgia:
Responding to an audience question at a town hall at his presidential center in Atlanta, Carter said Tuesday that Wilson’s outburst was also rooted in fears of a black president.
“I think it’s based on racism,” Carter said. “There is an inherent feeling among many in this country that an African-American should not be president.”
Can I point out the obvious? There is nothing inherently racist in the words “You lie!” The phrase has no history of bigotry, like might be argued of the salutation “boy” when addressed to a black man. The words “You Lie” could just as easily be said by a black dude to a white guy.
For Carter or anyone else to make the claim of racism based on those two words, they must assign a motive to the speaker. They must claim to be able to look into the heart of the man and perceive his intent. And no one—liberal or conservative—has that ability.
So why are so many liberals ready to cry foul when conservatives criticize their Lord and Savior, Barack Obama?
First, `playing the race card` is a show-stopper. When you cry `racism,` all meaningful discussion stops. The `race card` works because of `white guilt,` which is a stigma under which white individuals believe that they must perpetually prove a negative–that they are not racist–to gain enough authority to function in matters of race, equality, and opportunity. Liberals use `white guilt` to beat back criticism when simple facts, logic and reason fail them.
Second, liberals must assign a motive of racism to Congressman Joe Wilson’s outburst because, to not do so would be to admit that there are legitimate reasons to criticize Obama. The only way to avoid a discussion of the merits of the issue—whether or not Obama’s mysterious healthcare plan or any of the proposals currently before Congress extend benefits to illegal aliens—is to assign a nefarious motive to the criticism.
Then there’s this…. even a racist can speak the truth. And if it’s true, what does it matter if the motives of the speaker are questionable? The truth is no less the truth.
